Anet is obviously not going to trace up all the duped item and review each case individually nor delete all the duped items.

So yeh GG some peoples capitalized on Anets bug, it sucks but that's how things work in online games unfortunately.

Im personally annoyed about this whole incident, I just serisouly hope anet take this incident serious and will learn not to screw up as much in the future.

Ps. Wow malice you must really enjoy arguing with peoples.

When will it be safe to buy a tormented weapon again? I was planning on doing so soon, but then this whole fiasco happened. When is the witchhunt gonna end?

IMO people understand this - what you are fighting is normally called "rationalization" and isn't based on logic therefore logic will not suffice to counter it. It is something that is wanted so bad if they can remotely talk themselves into it then they go on and do it and then are shocked, shocked I tell you, that everyone else isn't so happy with their feats of logic. Once it moves outside of their own little mind it all falls apart and it is difficult to accept. To some extent we all do that and most of us feel kinda dumb when the house of cards collapses, others think that if they complain enough they will get their way (and in many paces it works - many parents are swayed by it)

For instance, where I live it is perfectly legal to own five pounds of gun powder (many here target shoot and reload - you can easily purchase 10lb containers of it). It is perfectly legal to put all of that in a container and add a fuse, it is perfectly legal to light said fuse, and it is perfectly legal to have all that gunpowder burn at the same time (in other words - there is nothing illegal about such a "firecracker"). So why not do it - it's great fun!!!

However, there is something wholly illegal about both the damage it will cause and the noise from doing so. You will occasionally find some redneck that thinks they can get away with it because everything up to that point is not illegal so why would they be punished for the last part? This is even furthered by news reports of someone beating such a thing by some really strange feat of logic that a judge somewhere accepts.

This tends to be much more common from people that live in more restrictive places - they are used to the idea that everything that may be dangerous our may lead to something illegal being, well, illegal and one is not capable of doing it. That it is possible *is* an excuse and until they finally butt up against someplace that doesn't view them as terribly special and expects them to be adults they expect to get away with it. Reality is that type of stuff is about as close as one can get to a chance of 0% outside of your parents and those your parents can bully (one will even note that a parent - or the person pretending to be their parent - posted here in a rage about the banning and waste of money). Yet still we find people who try it all the time, many even as adults. People should chalk this one up to a life lesson - best you learn this when it is simply a game that you are loosing, not your freedom. Learn to recognize when you are rationalizing something and quit - others will not generally find it as persuasive especially those you screwed.

god, i beseech u to let the price stay at 100 +50ectos

Would the answer to your question be : Screwed? And not in the good way?

I imagine that the rest of us would just do a happy dance.
Because - "YOU" means "not-me".

90% of everything in GW drops in value quite rapidly, some faster than others... it's called supply and demand... everything looses value unless extremely rare and can't be farmed - armbraces were well over 100k 100e not long ago

I do agree it stinks that you work really hard for something though and it just drops like a rock, and it's quite sickening how many people think that's just a funny thing but people seem to like laughing at others misfortune

How is more people being able to get torment weapons a bad thing? They might lose some of their "1337" status, but I really couldn't care less about that, I just want them because they look neat.

Since I bought mine for 100k and 130e a few weeks after DOA, I don't feel bad for you at all.

Addition on Malice Black act: anyone should realize what he is trying to cross check if ANet doing their job properly.

An example, Innocent Player who do not aware about it, will still going to buy cheap armbrace (without awareness that they *might* get banned) and use it to get tormented weapon or re-sell them for profit (like what Malice did).

As far as I can see, re-sell any items in-game with in-game money to gain profit in-game, will not cross any agreements. This is The Law of Economy or Business, gained profit by buying low price items and sell it again for profit. These people can't be judge as exploiter/duper.

So far, as I can see Malice account don't get banned because of it, which proof the innocent player will not get banned just because they buy and re-sell armbrace* for a profit. ANet doing their job on tracing and banning account.

*within acceptable amount

So what do we learn from this?

1. DON'T trade with people just in case there is a slight chance it's a duplicated item.

2. Don't farm in known bot farming areas.

Both = Ban

It's stupid, anet stuffs up by letting the dupe hack happen, then they stuff up buy banning people by buying duped items unknowingly

Your talking about coloured gloves right? I'm kinda embarrassed to say I've played Runescape then hehe.

On a more serious note, I find it preposterous that people are getting banned for buying an Arm Brace for 10k. Yes, I've heard about how that should alert people to some hack or something but why should we HAVE to know that? The only source for information of the "counterfeit" Arm Braces is this forum. Anet has not made an official announcement informing players about this hack on the Official Website or through the client. Secondly, why is buying a high end item for 10k a bannable offence? Last time I checked The Rules, nowhere did they say buying a High End item for 10k was wrong? IF, and I say IF, I had 10k in my bag AND had no idea of this hack and saw a random player selling an armbrace for 10k in Sardelac Sanitarium or Tanglewood Copse I would buy it! I'd then tell my guildies about the awesome deal I just struck, where they would probably tell me of the hack.

Now can you imagine the situation, I am left with a fraudulant item and can either sit on it and wait till I get banned, or sell it and try to regain my 10k and then get banned because I did not know better.

Now, before somebody jumps to conclusions and Bans me or gets upset at me I reiterate! I DID NOT buy any Arm Braces and I can assure you that an armbrace, or any torment gem for that matter has ever passed through my ownership. I would also want to reiterate that now That I AM AWARE of the AoT situation I would NEVER buy an AoT for Moral Reasons and mostly because I am not willing to risk getting banned.

Down with the Dupers, let them get a perma ban!

You agreed to the EULA, which states that Anet can ban anyone for any reason at their sole discretion.

People are in alliance chat stating their main accounts were banned for trading items in return for stacks of armbraces...

I am sure the ban stick will be heading your way if you bought multiple stacks of them as Anet have banned alliance members for anywhere between the equivalent of a stack to 400 of them.
